ABOUT US
The Basque House
Etxea: A place where multi-generational families live, join, thrive and love. My goal is to produce heirloom textiles to be passed on through generations; all the while celebrating the Basque home and those who live and love the Basque culture.
I am third-generation Basque raised with the appreciation of the USA in my family's story. My mother spent one year in Spain with the first Boise-Spain program offered in Onati. My attempt at Basque language school in Lazkao was an eye-opening experience! Although I did not master the language - - I learned far more during evening paseos and eating pintxos!

I grew up about an hour west of Boise, Idaho, on a farm, and spent countless hours with my Amuma! My grandfather was not Basque but married one & swore that they were the best people in the world! My Amuma fostered my interest in sewing & in my search for Basque textiles (even in the Basque country), I found none! My search sent me on the adventure in design & I have launched this site to share my love of being Basque with all of you.
